Today is the last day of making the water rocket, we did some trials of our water rockets. The first time it flew to the end of the garden, which i was amazed. The fins fell off the rocket every time when we flew the rocket. So we decided to try not using the fins in the competition and it turned out pretty good.

We made a new water rocket that is smaller and more simple today, the reason why we made a new rocket is because the leaking problem for the first rocket is still happening. We tried to put tape and hot glue on the leaking spot, but it didn’t work. For the second rocket we only used one bottle, this is to prevent the leaking problem. We used three fins on our rocket to make it stable while flying. We also wrapped plastic tape around the fins to make it waterproof. For tomorrow, we are planning to test the water rocket to see how far it goes and hopefully fix some potential problems of the rocket.

Today we finished making our water rocket. We fixed some errors from last class. We also did some trials and we found out there is a leak in our bottle, we used hot glue to fix it.

Today my groupmates and I started to make our water rocket. We cut the bottles and sealed the middle part of one bottle to the end part of the other bottle using hot glue. We also used cardboard to make the wings of the water rocket. We are planning to seal the last part and the rest of the wings onto the rocket next lesson.



A Midsummer Night’s Dream– director’s notebook

I contributed on finding and choosing the introduction music and the conclusion music. My part of the director’s notebook is to find appropriate music for our film. The introduction music I have found for film is the introduction is the introduction music of the famous cartoon “Tom and Jerry”. I chose this because it fits to the mood, which is mysterious. The music also it shows conflict between characters. The music I have chosen for conclusion is “Wait for you” by Elliot Yamin. This music basically summarizes the theme of the play and also summarizes the plot. The theme of our play is love. In the play, I’ve act as two characters, the first one is Puck and the Second one is Lysander. I have chosen these two characters because they have some gaps between, they don’t appear in the same scene that my group had chosen. So this gave me flexibility to act out as different characters.

 

The main thematic issue of our group explored is manipulative power of love.  The evidence is our plot. Because our plot is following our thematic issue where the fairies are manipulative and the love is the four Athenians.

 

My character interacts with other character to further the thematic issue by emphasizing the conflict. I did that by exaggerating my facial expression and my movements. My character interacts with setting to further the thematic issue by changing my mood and my movements upon different scenes and settings.

 

I am acting as two different characters. I would say both of my characters are instigator of the conflicts. My first character is Puck, he put the gift to the wrong locker and caused a conflict between Lysander and Helena. My second character is Lysander, he got confused by the gift and he thought that he is in love with Helena. And this caused a conflict between them two where Helena was really irritated by Lysander. The instigation of conflict by my characters helped to establish the thematic issue by emphasizing and exaggerating the conflict.

Field trip to the flower market

Today we went to the the flower market and bought seeds for our planting. We also bought fertilisers and extra soil.

Create Project

I have chosen to do an original artwork for the create project. This is an artwork that I created using oil and acrylic on canvas. The aim of this artwork is to express 3 different intangible aspects of myself.

The first intangible aspect I included is my different personalities, I expressed it by the different colors on my background. Blue represented introverted, Green represented calm, Red represented extroverted, Orange represent irritable and Yellow represented extroverted. The second intangible aspect I included is the confusion of nationalities, I expressed it by making my face looked really confused and the messiness of my background can also show confusion. The last intangible aspect I included is the love of the color that represented nature, I expressed it by using Green and Blue on my background.

It connects to grade 9 English standards because it includes “informational texts”, although there isn’t actual text on my artwork, but there is invisible text that people need to find out in my artwork. For example, the meaning of the background, the purpose of this painting…
