After doing the slime test on many different polymer, we recorded the data. Boogers smells like glue and has a slime rating of 2 because it is not really that slimy but it is stretchy. When slow poking, your finger gets covered by slime. When poking it quickly, your finger does not go through. When slow stretching it, it is very stretchy, but when stretching it fast enough, it will snap in half. It took the polymer 13 seconds to touch the table when placed on a 30 cm tall ruler and it also bounces 6cm when dropped from 30 cm. This polymer is decent for our goal since our polymer can protect people from sharp edges by putting it over an edge. We will add things from other polymers to improve and add on to it to further achieve our goal. To do that, the polymer needs some special characteristics like it can reshape easily, it does not get affected by gravity, it is easy to take off, and it will absorb impact. Mixing things from boogers and super-slime will result in something like it. We need to easily reshape it so we would take parts out of boogers. We also need the polymer to be durable so it does not break. We will use parts of the super-slime to make our polymer durable. We will make the polymer sticky by adding either the PVA solution or PVA glue. We will make 1 sample with the PVA solution and the other one with PVA glue. We will test how each one works by testing the durability of it, how does it get affected by gravity, and can it be reshaped easily and choose the one that fits the best.
