I’m in Love with You-The Fault in Our Stars

The theme of the book The Fault in Our stars is “Love while you can.” I chose to do book cover of this book because it shows the theme of this book the best. When I read this book, it felt like I was really into the book. In fact, it made me cry SO HARD.  John Green had really challenged and moved readers’ heart with this book.

The main character, Hazel Grace, suffers from lung cancer. She once read a book called ‘An Imperial Affliction’ and she thinks that there’s something more than the ending of it. She first just wonders about it by herself, but then she meets Augustus. And everything changesJ I believe that the climax of the book is when Augustus pass away. For Hazel Grace, Augustus was everything. They were truly in love with each other. “I am,” he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling. “I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.” (Green 153) They were more than lovers. They shared all the ups and downs with each other. Hazel fell in love with Augustus at the first sight. And they became more than lovers. They shared everything with each other. What I mean by everything is literally ‘everything’. Except Augustus didn’t tell Hazel about his cancer coming back. That’s because he truly love her. He made a sacrifice for her, so that they can go to Amsterdam together. What a beautiful storyL Making a sacrifice for someone you knew for about a month is really hard, unless you REALLY love them, just like Augustus love Hazel.

Augustus, on the other side, is truly a guyJ He’s really romantic, sweet and also a boy with purpose. Unlike Hazel-who’s scared to move and leave her mark, Augustus is determined to leave his mark everywhere. He wastes no time to get to know about Hazel. He’s kind of a dude who makes things happen. Hazel had been trying to contact peter Van Houten for years, but it doesn’t work. When Augustus tries, it worksJ Because of his dogged determination.  Dear Mr. Waters,” he answered. “I am writing to thank you for your electronic correspondence…”(Green) Augustus is a person who lives his life to the fullest, until his life ends. Which sadly, it does.

I personally think that this book is very deep and sad, but also happy. I think I made an awesome choice-to read this book, “The Fault in Our Stars” 🙂
