In the portable mini vacuum cleaner I constructed, the electric energy from the Lipo battery gets transferred to the kinetic energy. From the electricity that the battery gives, the fan that is attached to the DC motor spins very rapidly, kinetic energy, and helps to suck up the trashes that needs to be cleaned.
The successes throughout the project were that the final product turned out to be even better than I expected as I thought the vacuum cleaner wouldn’t fully work and
To improve next time, I would mainly work on 2 things. First, I would make the motor spin faster by using a stronger battery. The fan wasn’t strong enough to suck up a more substantial material than thin plastic.
While making this, I face 2 massive risks that took me a long time to figure out the solution. The first risk came when I had to glue the fan with the DC motor. I tried using hot glue several times until I found out that the hot glue was not strong enough to make them indestructible. The next try was using a super glue that makes products instantly bond. Unfortunately, it didn’t work as well. By asking several peers and adults, I finally found stronger glue called MMA adhesive which was for bonding metals. After this problem was solved, I tried out using the vacuum cleaner and knew that the strength of the product wasn’t strong enough. As I made a whole in the previous design which helped to let out the air that got absorbed in, the fan was sucking the air from both sides unlikely from what I have planned and thought. As a result, I decided to reconstruct the design to strengthen the power. This process took longer than I thought and I thought it was a failure. However, when I finished I found out that it was the one I thought made me to real success.
My product is also made up of used materials except for the battery. All the bottles came from a shampoo bottle and water bottle, so using the cleaner wouldn’t give a more catastrophic event to the environment.
By creating this portable vacuum cleaner, potential clients and consumers would be able to easily use it in anywhere, anyplace, and anytime. They won’t have an uncomfortable situation to use the cleaner.
