Ibn Batuta was explorer born in Tangier, Morocco in 1304 in a family of judges. When he was a kid, he longed to travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. So, at the age of 21 he left Morocco and started his journey to Mecca. He would not go back to Morocco for 29 years.
While he was traveling all across the known world, he kept a diary called the Rihla which is still published today. When Ibn Batuta was traveling he met 60 rulers of the known world and became the ambassador of India to China. Whilst he traveled, he survived bandits, robbers, and the black death.
When he was done traveling,he returned back to Morocco where he served as a judge until he died.Ibn Batuta died in the year 1369 when he was 64 years old in Morocco.I think that Ibn Batuta is one of the least studied explorers in the world.
