«ook and gluk – kung fu cavemen from the future» the second epic novel by george and harold.

April 20th, 2017

yes, i know the title is long and weird. but it’s a good book!

it’s about two caveman kids called ook and gluk and their mean chief, chief goppernopper. goppernopper wants to marry ook’s sister, so ook and gluk went to find a soulution. they saved the t rex mog-mog, so they went to stop goppernopper. he was kicked out of the village. when he was walking away, he met his grandchild’s grandchild’s grandchild’s grandchild’s grandchild’s grandchild… and they went together and came up with a secret plan of enslaving the whole cavemen race.

my favorite character in this book is lily, the mog-mog’s daughter. when ook and gluk was captured by evil robots, lily vomited and saved them.

a connection is in this comic i read, when a father and son was attacked by a burglar, the son accidentally dropped a tack on the floor, and he burglar stepped on it.

Rascal

April 17th, 2017

the book Rascal is about a boy who adopts a raccoon who he named rascal, because of the natural black mask around his eyes. the boy had other pets: a dog, woodchucks, a crow, cats and even skunks. he lived with only his father. his father let him build a canoe in the living room and let him have any pet he wanted. he had  two older sisters, a big brother who was fighting in WWI, and his mom was dead. they had a lot of fun and adventures together, like going camping, planting, and going to his uncle’s house. but, in the end, the boy realized that he can’t keep rascal forever, and he was dating a female anyway. so he let him join the female, and he started a new life.

my favorite character in this story is rascal, because he’s so cute. he’s smart, too, because when the boy locked him in a cage, he figured out how to get out. he learnt to swim, and how to take an ear of corn off the plant.

a connection i have is when we had hamsters. we used to let them out during the day, but they kept chewing on things, so we had to lock them in cages. in this book, the boy used to let rascal out, but he kept stealing other people’s crops.

My Teacher is an Alien!

March 29th, 2017

once upon a time, there was a school. in the school, there was a classroom with the teacher Ms. Schwartz. in the class, there was a kid called Susan Simmons. and her friend is Peter Tompson. one day, Susan found out that the new teacher that came for the rest of the year, Mr. smith, is actually an alien, and he captured Ms. Schwartz, and will capture 5 more kids! what will she do? find out!

my favorite character in this book is peter, because he’s smart, nice and has a sense of adventure.

this connects to a story i read in a book when an alien wants to capture a town, (the whole thing, buildings and all) but the townsfolk found out his weakness… egg salad. they take the whole supply of it from the school, and shoot it onto the ship with cannons.

Monster on the Hill

February 20th, 2017

long, long time ago, in England, every city or town had a monster. one was Tentaculor, and another one was Rayburn. monster attacks are a source of pride for the cities. Rayburn was the monster of Stoker-on-Avon. but he had a major depression problem, so the city was short on tourism and money. one man, called Wilkie, was ordered to go up to the monster’s cave to find a solution for the monster’s depression problem by the town fathers. while doing that, he ended up going on a road trip with Timmy (who hid in Wilkie’s suitcase) and Rayburn (the monster) to Rayburn’s friend, Tentaculor, who was the monster of Billingwood. while there, they found out that the reason that every city had a monster was not only for tourism, but also to get protection from the murk, a monster who was created from graveyard dirt and fed on fear. now that Rayburn left his town, the murk was heading for it. they head towards Stoker-on-Avon as fast as they can, but it was too late…

Timmy is my favorite character in this book. he’s fun, funny and brave, the exception being when he got turned into a mushroom (you’ll find out why in the book!) he stowed away in Wilkie’s suitcase to go on this journey, and even though he is an orphan and homeless, but he still managed to get a job as a newspaper boy.

i once read a book when a boy had a depression problem, so his mom and dad took him on a road trip. it connects to Monster on the Hill by the point that Wilkie, Timmy and Rayburn went on a road trip to cure Rayburn’s depression problems.

so, that was my review of  Monster on the Hill, hope you liked it!

SCIENCE UNIT REFLECTION

December 15th, 2016

in this unit, i learned that scientists are very busy on drawing models and writing reports. (well, that job’s off my list.)

my favorite experiment is the elephant toothpaste one. it was so cool!

this unit is going to help me on 6 grade because it gave me a head start on making models and writing science reports.

WRITING REFLECTION

December 13th, 2016

felix is a penguinland intergalactic protectors soldier. one day an monstrous dictators of the universe squad knocked him out by a taser. when he woke up, he found himself in a home-style space ship and met three friends. they go to the MDU mothership, kick butt, and kill their leader.

he overcame his problems with the help of his friends. they thought of ideas together and fought together.

important parts of the story is metaphors, similes and plot points, because those would make it more interesting.

the genre of my story is a sci-fi story because it has spaceships and laser guns and stuff.

i think you would like my story because it has a lot of adventures, action and (kind of) comedy.

cooking reflection 2

December 9th, 2016

cooking banana bread is similar to cooking muffins because we put flour in both ones. and we used the teaspoons, tablespoons and cups to do the measurements. it was different because we used a whole lot more ingredients in the banana bread.

we used fractions in this unit by the half or quarter cups, teaspoon and tablespoons for the flour or sugar.

a hint for this recipe is melt the butter in a different pan on step 3 .

the highlight for this baking experience (other than eating them) was… um… smelling the bread!

bye! i hope you liked this blog!

muffins reflections

December 1st, 2016

we used fractions in this unit by the half or quarter cups, teaspoon and tablespoons for the flour or sugar.

we can double the recipe by doubling the materials, like instead of half a cup of flour, we can use a whole cup. if you want to divide it by two, just use a quarter cup of flour.

the highlight was eating it. it was AWESOME. mmmmm… especially when you put cinnamon and sugar on them.

matilda

November 14th, 2016

I read Matilda by Roald Dahl over the weekend, and it was a pretty god book. but i watched the movie in 2nd grade, so all the things were spoiled for me.

it’s about this girl that’s only 5 very smart. she has a brother, and her parents hate her. so whenever they bother matilda, she plays tricks on them. then she went to school, and the principle is this mean old woman called miss trunchbull, and her teacher is called ms honey. at school, she found out that she can move things with her mind. that’s all i can tell, you, or i’m gonna spoil the story for you!

matilda is very smart, and she’s very nice. even though her intelligence level is at grade 6 or something, her personality is still a 5 year old. she lives in a rich family, but i won’t call her “lucky.”

i’ve always thought that i had some superpower, to, like communicate with penguins. but i still couldn’t test it .

that was my blog of matilda, and i hope you liked it!
