Catch-All Design Project

My biggest success was the hooks and the wood glue. These two parts were easy because the wood glued exactly how I wanted it and did not fall apart. The hooks were a success because they screwed in easily and held up I bunch f stuff without falling off. These were the most successful things out of my catch-all.

My biggest obstacle was the shelf and getting the wood all evened out. This was hard because I had not glued both big piece of wood and one need to be planed and that took a long time. When I got it back the other pice need to be planed because the  1st piece got smaller. The shelf would not get straight and took a long time to get it straight.

Skills that I learned or developed were how to wood glue and how it works. I learned that it can be very useful and is a strong pieces of material to keep your pieces together.

Grade 7 May Trip

Last week on May 8th my classmates and I went on a three day trip.  We did many activities such as hiking and a scavenger hunt. Out of all the things that we did my favorite thing would have to be camping with my friend and hiking to the campsite. This trip was a lot of fun and was very active most of the time. Some of my personal recommendations would be to have a variety of food instead of just chinese. Some types would be western and mexican or something like that. Overall it was a pretty fun and eventful trip!

I hope that if you are a future 7th grader and is going to go on this trip have has much fun as we did!

Temple Field Trip 2019

When I heard that we were going to different types of temples that we have studied about I was very excited. When we got to the first temple which was the Lama Temple as soon as you walked in you saw huge buddhas and lot of people praying and burning essential oils. I was walking around and really thought about why they were burning the oils and learned that they burn the oils because of the smell which helps them focus on praying instead of other thoughts that they might be in their mind. I thought that the burning of the oils was a little unnecessary but, when I found out what they used it for it was quite interesting.

Another interesting thing that I learned at all the temples was that you can not step on the blocks in the doorway because it can give you bad luck and is very disrespectful. You also have a specific foot that you step over the things. For girls the left and for boys the right. I learned at the doaist temple that each person is a blank slate and can choose to be good or to be bad and if you choose to be bad there are different realms in the afterworld that you are sent to depending on how bad you were on earth.
