Gene Quezada

Gene is happy to start his 20th year in education in the Futures Academy and joins the ISB community with his wife, Kendra, a third-grade teacher, and his border collie, Chico. Gene is originally from California and taught in public schools for ten years before moving overseas. Most recently, he joins us from the American School in London.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, a Master of Arts in American Studies, and is currently working on doctorate in Educational Leadership and Curriculum. Lately he is puzzling about how to foster the social emotional well-being of students and its impact on academic intelligence, and how our use of language reinforces the dispositions educators hope their students demonstrate. When Gene is not studying for school, he enjoys cooking, brewing the perfect cup of coffee, and hiking in remote mountains.
