Does Everyone Have The Power To Express Freely?

For this time me and the drama team together created a show, “To__Or Not To__” as our project. The success that I have is that at the show, I improved on my speaking skills in front of audience. I was louder than before even though I was still nervous. The challenges I had for this week is that I’m not comfortable speaking in front of audiences and has a lot of stage fright which leads to small voice when speaking. The L21 focus area that I choose for this time is Communication and Collaboration-Taking responsibilities for myself. I have grown in my L21 focus area by that before I can’t present information in a way that is visually appealing and easy to understand, because I was nervous and my voice was low. But after this experience my voice level on stage increases and this make the information I present on stage more easy to understood and more visually appealing. The skills I learned in this ignite week would be useful to me in the future by overcoming stage fright which would make me more comfortable speaking in front of a big audience, so if in the future if there is a time that I need to speak in front of a big audience my voice level would’t be so low that the audience can’t hear me and there is also a bigger chance of me not as nervous as I would before this experience.

Reflective Powerpoint:

Express it to __ or not to __

During ignite week, me and my group create an original piece of theater with the help of teachers. Some successes were that we were able to express the real problem we faced, without telling the world that this specific problem was ours. Some challenger was that when we were performing, we did not do a classic performance. The audiences where in the middle and we were around them performing. The challenge was to try and make sure the audiences were able to see us. I think that these skills would be valuable because If I were to do more theater in the future then I would know the basics of how to devise a piece of theater.

Larger than Life Artistic Expressions

During the past week, I have overcame many challenges I haven’t yet experienced before, for example, creating art using yoga moves and completing art works on huge canvases within a limited amount of time. Although my artwaork didn’t come out to be perfect, I still think that I have met my own standards. I chose creativity and innovation as this project is based on my originality and which I can think of myself to create something new. As to the future, I think I would improve on maybe planning out beforehand as some of the things I had on my painting weren’t neccessary as well as focusing a bit more whilst creating my final products since I made some spelling mistakes. Overall, I think throughout the past ignite week I have learnt a lot and have grown in not only artistic skills but also to be able to express my personality.

The create or not to create that is the question

Octagon

In ignite week, I created terrarium.  It wasn’t about planting inside of the terrarium, It was making case of the terrarium. First we made our prototype and make a vector drawing, then we printed with laser cutter. It this project, My success are putting wooden frame on the clear acrylic. I put wooden frame to hide gules on the acrylic. And that makes terrarium more clean and refined. My challenge was gluing inside of my terrarium. Glue gun was too big so I can’t glue inside. And I realize I have one empty space which is door of my terrarium tor watering plants. Still it was hard, but I was able to glue inside.

Pomegranate Quest!

I created an interactive narrative using Power Point. I feel like I did alright with the art and general humor, however, I wasn’t able to make this story as long or as complicated as I wanted it to be.

I spent a few days trying to make the story on Scratch, but then I realized I wouldn’t be able to finish it if I continued on Scratch, so Mr. Quezada suggested I switch to PowerPoint. It turned out to work really well, however, because I had to start from scratch on PowerPoint, I lost two days of work. (No pun intended.) If I had started with PowerPoint earlier, I would have been able to make the story longer and more fun to read. In the future, I have to remember to be more realistic with my goals.

I grew in the L21 goal Creativity & Innovation Process. I know this because I learned some techniques for brainstorming ideas at the beginning of the week. This will be helpful in a future job because if I want to have a job that requires me to draw, like making Logos, I have to be able to think up of ideas of what to draw.

Terra Fatty Terrarium

I created a terrarium with a hinge and a triangular bottom so you can see the dirt for no reason.
we worked together and quickly got our work done, but our teacher had to keep reminding us to do our work, but we got it done.
we had some arguments with each other some are on task other weren’t.
I worked and did exactly what my teammates told me to do.
teamwork is important, and so it would be of value for me in the future. so i think i made use is the teamwork

Project Consume

We did quite a lot during the process of the project. We learned what plastic is and how it is made of, as well as the ways to extract , produce, dispose and recycle plastics. In the second week of the process, we went to a plastic factory to observe the whole working line of plastics in order to know it in detail. We learned the molecule structure of plastics and its categories. Besides, I watched some videos and read a book about plastic and relating topic called Story of Stuff. Still, I wrote a narrative writing demonstrating the production, recycle of plastics. After that I made a video all by myself to reflect a lovely girl who likes eating mooncakes a lot, when she knows that the influence of plastics, she stops using and eating anything with plastic packages.

The Ancient Gem of Kura

This ignite week, the challenge for me was to create an interactive narrative. We had many choices as to how to write the narrative, and I decided to write my story like a choose your own adventure book.  The project was filled with both hard work and fun. We explored many different methods of making these narratives, as well as how to use photoshop and green screens. Overall, I really enjoyed this ignite week, and learned quite a lot from it as well. I hope future ignite weeks can also be this great.

Below is a video version of my ignite week process journal, I hope you enjoy!

The “Terra Fatty” Terrarium

For the first ignite week of 2018, I had a lot of fun and learned a whole forest of information(Pun intended). For the 17-18 Express-It ignite week, I built a terrarium with. The driving question of this project was: “How can plants and design add inspiration to a space” and I believe we have solved the driving question by making a terrarium made specifically for the people of FA based on the feedback we got from the interview. The process of making the terrarium was not too challenging because we had a great plan, however, the hot glue did get out of hand and we had to take a whole period to clean it up. Overall, this week taught me a lot of things, and, surprisingly, the most important thing I learned this week was responsibility. Before this project, I never really did much by myself because the people in my group were much more competent than me, however this time, I had made a bad choice when picking a group member so I had to force myself to do more work than I thought was possible of me. Finally, for my L21 goal, “Creativity and Innovation”, I didn’t grow as much as expected because I had to make some compromises on the design, so i didn’t get to design the terrarium exactly how I wanted, even so, I still learned a lot about making things, such as techniques for sticking acrylic together and techniques for covering up mistakes with aluminum tape. These skills will help me someday in designing projects in the future.

Overall, this project has been very inspirational and now that the week has passed, I have developed an urge to keep designing and building.
