The end of year is near and we are having our 2JL celebration. We will celebrate tomorrow (Tuesday the 12th) from 11:30 to the end of the day. Since we will be having pizza in the classroom, we will not eat at the cafeteria and there is no need to bring a home lunch. Parents you are welcome to come join us from 12:30 till the end of the day.
The schedule is as follows:
11:30 – 12:00 Pizza!
12:05 – 12:25 Recess
12:30 – 2:10 Movie
2:10 – 2:30 Goodbye to Leaves presented by Mrs. Catie (our counselor)
2:30 – 3:00 Yearbook distribution and signing
3:00 – 3:15 End of year gifts (surprise for students)
I also want to take this opportunity to inform you that there will be NO HOMEWORK this week.
You are invited to come celebrate your child’s writing. They have worked on a free choice genre. They have a chosen from a wide selection of Small Moment, All About, How To and Opinion writing. They will also display their Historic Event in the Glassbox Museum. They have researched an event and have answered all the W’s along with different perspectives. We look forward to seeing you!
Please disregard the invitation to our Writer’s Celebration on Friday, June 1st. I will soon reschedule.
Activities Day: Friday, May 18th
All the students are super excited for Activities Day tomorrow Friday May 18th! The weather could be very hot so please remind your child to wear their house colour shirt, sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle. This year the school has added in an extra water station to help keep the students hydrated!
If the AQI is over 150 at 7am Friday morning, Activities Day will take place in the dome. If the AQI is below 150 at 7am Friday morning, Activities Day will take place on the soccer field to the right of the domes.
Thanks so much for all your support,
The following letter was sent by our principal for our upcoming Spring Fair event. We still have quite a few vacancies for our 2JL and 2MS Frisbee Toss. We want them filled as to not have activity cancelled. If possible, please contact Mrs. Miranda (Ryan’s mom) and schedule and hour of your much needed help. I thank you in advance for your help and support.
The ISB Spring Fair is just around the corner and is one of the most anticipated PTA events of the year. On Saturday, May 19 there will be a variety of activities – food, games, performances, shopping – on offer that make for a wonderful way to spend time with your family.
For our students, the highlight of the Spring Fair are the games. Parent volunteers are needed to run the games and manage the booths, which are sponsored by each homeroom. If there are not enough volunteers, then some homeroom games may have to be closed. Please inform the homeroom parent of your child’s class or the homeroom teacher to sign up and volunteer an hour or more of your time.
Thank you for your support!
