Spring Break

Hello PK4 Families,

It was wonderful seeing everyone come to the Student Led Conferences this week!  I hope you all enjoyed them.  I was very proud of all the students-they were confident and did a fantastic job sharing their learning.

Have a safe and fun spring break!

Thank you for the lovely hand cream for my birthday-I appreciate it!

Dear Families,

Have a safe and fun time with your family during break.  Happy Chinese New Year!  Remember that school resumes on Monday, February 26.

Mrs. Wong

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful break.

We have a new PK4W family!  Welcome to PK4, Kim Family!  The new student that started this week is a boy from Korea, named Harry.  He is a wonderful addition to our class!

Class photos will be TUESDAY, January 16 of next week.

Thank you,

Mrs. Wong

Our differentiated field trips over the past 2 weeks were successful and fun!  We will be reflecting on them, whilst moving onto various exciting provocations in our Open Studio such as finishing up clay, moving on to pottery, ‘light’ exploration, coding using Beebots, and many more.

Please keep in mind that Friday, December 15 is the last day before ‘Winter Holiday’ and it is a half day with dismissal at 11:30.  If you have any travel plans that require you leaving early, please make me aware.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Field trips!

The first 2 groups that went on their field trips had a fabulous time this week!  Next week, the police will visit ISB for the ‘policeman’ group and do a whole group visit and then a private visit with those who already selected ‘police’.  Then, the children who chose ‘fireman’ will go the fire station.  I will SeeSaw message you next week ‘if’ your child chose these and inform you of which day they will attend.

We went to watch the girls basketball team this afternoon for part of their game and had a fun time supporting our ISB athletes and learning about the game!

Have a relaxing weekend and hopefully the blue skies stay!

Spirit Week

Hello PK4 Families!

Please check the “SeeSaw” announcement for information regarding Lower School Spirit Week!

Reminder that Thursday and Friday of next week are no school days.

Please remember to be on time in the morning.  We have a number of students coming in late, who are missing a chunk of their Mandarin lesson regularly with Go Lao Shi.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  Stay warm!

Thank you,

Mrs. Wong

No School Monday & Tuesday/PTC

Hello PK Families!

A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL for students on Monday and Tuesday, October 23 & 24 due to Parent Teacher Conferences.

Only come during the scheduled time that you signed up for via the website.  Please do not bring your children with you.  Conferences are about 20 minutes, with the extra 10 minutes for you to transition to a siblings conference, a specialist teacher, or it simply ends at around 20 minutes.

We will be discussing items presented in your child’s Learning Journey’s that you received via SeeSaw.

Thank you!

Mrs. Wong

Message from the Library

The ES library is excited to begin their inaugural ISB book drive in conjunction with the Grade 1 students!

During the month of October, Grade 1 and the Library will be collecting your good quality but unwanted books and donating them to a local school.

Learn more here: http://blogs.isb.bj.edu.cn/eslmc/2017/09/25/give-us-your-unwanted-books/

Hello PK4 Families!

Please remember to sign up for parent conferences on either Monday or Tuesday October 23 & 24, via the school website.  There is NO SCHOOL for children that day and children do not attend conferences, so please plan ahead.

Please change your child’s extra clothing at school in their locker.  Sometimes children have an accident or even spill something on themselves, therefore now that the weather has changed, their extra clothes should be warm ones.

Ms. Chen wanted to say “Thank You!” for the thoughtful birthday gift!

Please take notice of the general PK4 blog, that we are going on a field trip to 798 Art District on Tuesday, October 17.  Our class can have 3 parent volunteers, but only volunteer if you are comfortable looking after small groups of children please :-). Email me, first come first serve and there will more field trip opportunities later this year!

Please view this message from library/tech teachers Mr. Griffin and Ms. Bec:

Dear Parents & Guardians,

This Monday morning (16 Oct), ES Ed Tech Facilitators Bec Taylor and Sam Griffin will be running a workshop for parents on how to use Seesaw to enhance your child’s learning. You will have an opportunity to experience Seesaw from a learner’s perspective and practice feedback techniques that will help you, your child and our teachers to get the most out of this powerful and widely-used application.

Tea and coffee will be provided so please join us in the MS/HS Library classroom (room 1227) from 8:30am to 9:15am. Please ensure you have installed the Seesaw Family app on your phone so we can connect to your child’s Seesaw account.

Please be in touch if you have any queries. We hope to see you there!
本周一上午(1016日),小学教学技推广专员Bec TaylorSam Griffin长们举行一Seesaw会,我将会讨论如何使用Seesaw来更有效的促您孩子的学
