Parenting in the Digital Age – Our final session of this series will take place at 8:45 in the Glass Box on November 15.  Please come even if you have not attended the previous sessions.

Innovation EXPO@ISB  Many Middle School students and teachers will participate in the Innovation EXPO@ISB on November 19 from 10AM to 4PM in the Domes.  This event will celebrate creative projects by our own students and other “makers” from the Beijing community.  The event is co-sponsored by ISB, Creatica, and Beijing Kids.  There will be a variety of international food available for purchase.  The event is open to the public and no tickets are necessary.  Bring your non-ISB friends!  Come for an hour or all day!

Simply Solo Strings – 4pm on November 21 in the MPR.  Come and enjoy beautiful performances by some of our most talented student musicians!

Middle School Parent Coffee The next coffee will take place in the MPR on November 23 at 8:30AM.  Come and hear about personalized learning, the importance of improving mother-tongue fluency, and other topics of interest to parents.  Bring your questions for the Q&A at the end!

Futures Academy Enrollment Info for 2017-18.  On November 23, at 10:00am (just after the Parent Coffee) in the Futures Academy’s main space (above the MS/HS library), we will be hosting a parent information session for any current grade 6 parents interested in joining our MS Futures Academy for the 2017-2018 school year.  Our FA facilitators will be available to answer questions and share highlights of the program and the applications will be distributed after the session. Information about MS Futures Academy can be found on Dragons’ Gate and our Website under the MS tab. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Schafer in the MS office.

Why and How is Assessment Changing? Join us on Thursday, November 24th in the MPR from 6:30 to 8:00pm to hear from Tom Schwimmer, an assessment expert and consultant working with ISB teachers this year, about changing thinking related to assessment in Middle and High School. Tom Schimmer is an independent education author, speaker, and consultant from Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada). He is recognized as a leader and expert in the areas of assessment for learning, sound grading practices and educational leadership. Be an ISB learner with us!
Once Upon a Hutong is coming! Our MS drama production is sure to be amazing on November 24-26. Get your tickets online using a computer! Be sure to set the quantity to the correct number and update your cart. In the end, you should have a QR code with each person’s name who will attend. These can be brought on your phone or printed out.
