Principal’s List for December 5

It’s time again to recognize students who have shown great examples of our core values in their words and actions.  Their teachers have noticed!  Each of these students will get a special Principal’s List sticker from their Mentoring teacher and a certificate at a later date.

Grade 6
Aidan Wong was a great helper/creator of the Wishing Well Giving Station in the library. He spent 2 class periods helping to construct the well–which will be the recipient of books for Migrant children. Thank you Aidan, for your time and caring!

Alexander Kokcontinues to set a positive example in class and consideration for others. He demonstrates respect and integrity in his actions and is a valued member of his class.
Annie Qiu has shown perseverance in making the most of ISB’s resources to advance her learning. Even after a long day, Annie realises that a visit with a High school tutor after school will be of benefit to her as she endeavors to make academic progress.
James Guan has demonstrated the core value of Global Mindedness by always being open to working with different people in class. Being flexible is an important life skill and James shows that on a daily basis.
Grade 7
Stella Wu worked really hard to make sure that the 7-1 class presentation was ready.  She stayed after school and showed an impressive work ethic, great job!
Annabel Tang devoted herself to organizing and completing the Grade 7 assembly, giving a lengthy amount of time after school to helping to pull it together.
Christina Lin demonstrated an ISB Core Value of service since she always shows her positive attitude and tries to help during class time. (helping by erasing the board, helping organizing class books, etc.)
Kenny Huang showed an impressive work ethic in preparing for the 7th-grade presentation.  He stayed during lunch and after school and didn’t ask for a word of thanks, such an awesome job, sir!
Sofia Rane was an integral part to the creation, organization and final completion of the Grade 7 Assembly. She worked tirelessly through our class time and put in a great deal of extra time after school. Hooray!
Sofia Rane has been serving her ISB community through her leadership role in organizing our Grade 7 Awards Assembly and coordination of Spirit Week for the homeroom.
Braxton Gan has stepped into roles that have required more work and effort in order to complete a task with his team. He is the student that follows directions and shows respect to his teachers and his classmates. He models good behavior and responsibility.
Long Chen did a great job helping out our newest addition to 7-3 this week! Thank you for volunteer to do this, and thank you for your consistent respect and kindness to others!

Elizabeth Zhao from 7-4 has demonstrated the core value of Service as she has been working hard behind the scenes helping to organize grade 7 games day and our class’ Secret Santa.

Neo Stenstrom has been outstanding in his honesty, effort and the care shown to his classmates in our recent units.
Grade 8
Ryan Cunningham shows the core value of integrity and respect when he participates in Chinese class activities, and when he communicates with his teacher and classmates.
Kelley Choi showed empathy for others by donating a backpack to school children in Qinghai! Thank you!

Kelly Wong created an interesting and creative Movie for her poem she wrote in Humanities.  I appreciate her hard work and creative mind!
Eric Chen demonstrated the core value of service when he kindly took the recycle box that is not his responsibility to the recycle location.
Eric Chen has worked to respect others and has shown that he can balance a variety of workloads and keep on top of all his commitments. He did a good job in Chinese reading challenge with his Team.
Angela Yu is very talented in languages and she demonstrates both strong reading and writing skills. She consistently strives to challenge herself and find ways to take her creative writing to an even higher level.
I want recognize Malia Pedersen for her positive attitude, perseverance and growth mindset. She comes to school ready to go and willing to try new things. Her responsibility to her academics and respect towards her peers is commendable. Malia, congratulations to a successful 1st half of the year.
I want to recognize Bessy Belay for her positive attitude, perseverance and growth mindset. She comes to class with a smile ready to go! She asks great questions and is willing to try new things! Her responsibility toward her academics and thoughtfulness for her peers is admirable. Bessy, congratulations to a successful 1st half of the year.
I want to recognize Paris Chang for her positive attitude and growth mindset. She comes to class well prepared, asks great questions and is willing to try new things! Her responsibility toward her academics and collaboration with her peers is super! Paris, congratulations to a successful 1st half of the year.
James Huang has displayed Balance and Creativity among other valuable attributes in recent weeks. He presented a high-quality, interesting, and well delivered presentation for the NIH panel proposal project in Science that showed great presentation skills and dedication. At around the same time, he also performed by playing drums with the student band “Fly” during spirit week assemblies to help add value to those events. He’s generally been a friendly and positive influence on his classmates and the school at large and so, deserves recognition through this award.
Michael Atsuya is in knitting enrichment and he was kind enough to help organize the extra yarn we have in the supply room. Michael did a wonderful job of organizing an otherwise hopeless space! Thank you so much for helping out, Michael!
David Guo showed maturity and compassion in helping fellow students deal with conflict and tried to help them find a positive way to move foward.
