Wizard of Oz Rehearsal Schedule 06 – 15 March

WoZ Schedule 06 to 15 March BLOG

Please click on the above link to download a copy of the rehearsal schedule from 06 to 15 March.

We have organised rehearsals so that all children will be rehearsing singing, dancing or lines from a scene very time they come.  For this reason all children must attend every rehearsal.

Children should be checking the schedule so that they know which scenes they should be learning their lines for each week.  If your child has any questions about the schedule they can come see me in Room 2141.

Many thanks,

Sue Nilsson

Wizard of Oz Rehearsals

Rehearsals are underway for this year’s ES Production of The Wizard of Oz and we are delighted to see the children already working with energy and enthusiasm.

As all cast members are involved in every rehearsal, it is essential that your child attends every Tuesday and Thursday, as explained in the audition letter. If your child is absent from school and unable to attend a rehearsal please email me, Ms. Sue SNilsson@isb.bj.edu.cn  or Ms. Campbell ccampbell@isb.bj.edu.cn as early as possible, so that we have time to plan accordingly.

A copy of the rehearsal schedule for the next few weeks will be posted on the Blog by the end of this week.  It will also be posted outside Ms. Campbell’s room.  Cast members are responsible for checking the schedule so that they know which scenes they need to practice their lines for each week.

It is important that all cast members should already be learning their lines, as we will be rehearsing without scripts from the beginning of April. In addition to learning their lines, the children need to know the cues (the lines spoken just before theirs) so that they know when to say them. They should be practicing their lines every day, and it is extremely helpful if they can practice with someone at home e.g. a parent or sibling, who can read the lines of the other characters.

Once all cast members know their lines it is much easier for us to help them develop their character roles and work on movement, expression and interactions. This will build confidence and ensure that all children are prepared for and really enjoy their performances.

We appreciate your support and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact either me or Ms. Campbell.
