For this multimedia blog post I have compared the book Red Scarf Girl by Ji-li Jiang. With 1966-1976 into summary Jonathan Spence Search for Modern China pdf. The book Red Scarf Girl is written in the perspective of the author Ji-li Jiang, who thought that the revolution was one of the most saddening moments throughout her life. The similarities would be the way that people are treated for being Counter Revolutionists, or other people higher than of the commoners. Also of the events that were broadcasted inside of the book were also similar. But the diffrences would be the feelings and emotions of the people during the revolution, and also of how they reacted.
The book Animal Farm by George Orwell, the story is based on Russian history. The book talks about the revolution of the farm animals as they take over a farm in England. The cause for their fight for freedom was that they only had limited freedom and had to work for someone. If not the animals would be punished with less food or even death. One day the smartest of the animals started to plot against the farmer, named Mr. Jones.
For this blog post, I had chosen to make another book cover for Animal Farm. What I had done with it was that I made a border on the outside with green. “But when the animals saw the green flag flying and heard the gun firing again… it did seem to them after all that they had won a great victory.” (Pg. 110) The green represented the green grasses of England. It was also one of the main colors of their flag. As the green represented freedom to the animals. I had cut the symbol for communism and animalism in half. So each side would have one-half, that way it could show that there was almost no difference and also that it represented the same idea. The red was to represent the communist flag, and also the blood that went along with the loss of animals on the farm. The quote that I had chosen to use was “All animals are equal” (Pg. 43).
This had shown what the animals had wanted before the leadership of Napoleon (Stalin) had occurred.
This book shows the history of the Russian Revolution but in a simpler and easier way to understand. The book uses animals as the peasants of Russia, and the Humans as the nobles and higher classes. That is one main reason why this story might be considered a fairytale. But as the book continues it shows that even though the leadership has changed, it doesn’t always mean that things will change for the better.
The book I have read for this blog post is called “The Magician”. It is the second book of the Nicholas Flamel series, by Michael Scott. For the multimedia post I have chosen to make a newspaper, I have put a man named Aleron Anatole as the writer of the story. He has written it from the perspectives of himself and also of Niccolo Machiavelli. As of what he had smelled, saw and the number of people there. “He knew that they were talking about the strange fog that had suddenly descended over the church.” (Pg. 41). Another quote is “And beneath the portico of Sacre-Coeur in Paris, the air turned chill and moist , rich with the odor of vanilla ice cream.” (Pg. 34) These two quotes show the parts of the smells and looks of the night of the break in. This way when people look at the article they can feel or imagine what is talked or explained in the article.
