Why we made this

The first reason why we made this is that it is not normal and it is pretty cool to make it. Also, we searched on YOUTUBE and looked up what is the better decision to make. The first thing that we chose is lip scrub. This thing also works in the other place like hands.

So I am pretty sure that this is one of our best choices.

Containers that we can put bath bombs

  • First, we added baking soda and citric acid with 3:1
  • And then we added little bit of Water
  • And add food coloring that we wanted to add
  • We did lots of different colors there so we needed lots of different food coloring
  • The food coloring that we used is green, blue and red.
  • And then we did the same thing again and again, and we squished each other because it has to be harder.
  • AND ITS DONE!!!!!

Why we made this

First, we searched what is a good decision to make. But we saw the picture of the bath bomb and we all thought that this is a great thing to make, and also it was pretty easy to make, but it makes the desk really messy. But still, we think it is a good project and thing to make!

why we made this thing

First, we saw the YOUTUBE video first and it was really satisfying, and we searched up the materials, and every material we need wasn’t that special so we can get those easily. And when we started it was really satisfying when we actually made this (SHOWER JELLY)

Skin Care DIY StUfF !!!

Products:  Color changing nail polish, lip care ( lip bomb, lip gloss, lip scrub, and EOS lip bomb ), Soap ( flubber soap and solid soap), Bath bomb

  1. What challenges did you face in this project? How did you overcome these challenges?

I had many challenges during the whole day, for example, when i was making my EOS lip bomb, the whole thing just broke into two parts, and the little crumbs that fell out are impossible to put back together. So i decided to remake the whole thing, and this time, i tried looking at the video on youtube i was inspired by, and tried it all over again, the was still sorta messy, but the whole thing is ok. ( the youtube video i was inspired by : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIwBDeKD7yQ ) Another example was when i was making my bath bomb, carefully followed all the instructions, but in the end, after i left it for a few hours to dry, the whole thing wouldn’t come off the mold, so i tried many ways trying to get it out, but failed. At last, i … broke the bath bomb and i had to fix it, so i but the broken pieces back into the mold and hardened it well, and then without waiting any longer, i tried again, using the same way ( pushing one end of the bath bomb so the other end can just pop out), i did it, and then i decided to put the two half circles of bath bomb pieces together ( by adding some water in between them so they can have this sticky moister thing) and let it dry when it is all together, AND IT WORKED, YAY!!!!!!!

2. What did you learn through the process of completing this project?

I learned many things, for instance, something that is very improtant to know is that when you start making something, always think of the after, like you should really make all your things on a pieces of news paper or something that is really easy to clean up with instead of using the table. Like me, i used the counter and the table and it took a whole 2 hours to clean all those wax, vasiline and other stuff off, it was hard work. Another thing i learned that you really need patience for these can of stuff, because when i was making one of the lip bombs, i left it outside ( cause its cold outside and there were no frigde in the lab) for like 30 seconds and brought it back in and tried to use it, but only the top layer was actually dry, the bottom was still hot and liquid, and as i tried to use it, my finger poked inside of the top layer and my finger hurted a lot, even thought the thing wasn’t really hot, still don’t do that, just wait for a few more minutes and you can do alot of other things while you wait, but never wait toooooo long. And just a quick tip, if you ever want to make a EOS container to make your lip bomb in, there is a thing in there where you need to take a peice of in order to actually be able to use the container, never use tweezers, cause i did and a poked myself badly and it bleeded alot, the most important thing is that it actually hurts even thought it is a small cut. Instead of using tweezers, use exacto knives instead, it just pops open like *plop*.

3. What would you do differently if you were to do this ( or a similar) project again?

As i said before when i answered the second question, always use a thing that is really easy to clean up with to make your things instead of using the table, becuase, first your gonna destroy the table, second it takes you hours to get those stuff off, so ya. Another thing i would do differently is bring some extra materials just in case you run out because i ran out of some things and i had to quite making that thing.

Bomb-Balm DIY

During One Day, me and Ashley made a lot of products. We started off not that well, but slowly, we became better and made very good products. We made bath bombs, lip balms, lip creams, flubber soap, and perfume.
The best part of this is that you can explore and make different things and create your own recipe and flavour. We learned how hard it is to make DIY products and how many different ways there is to make them. The most successful product me and Ashley made was our lip cream, our lip cream came out to be very moisturising and it has a great smell.

DIY Products

Emily’s Skincare Line:

Taylor, Bessy, and Chaeyoung, and I worked together to make amazing body products. We created Bath Bombs, Facial Scrub, Lip Balm, and Home-made soap. During this process, we had to infer and change according to the boundaries of materials that we had in-store. I hope you will and see our amazing ONE DAY experience. During this process, we faced quite a few challenges in the creation of the skincare products. We had a really small quantity when we made the first batch of soap. Because of that, we had to make a lot more. Even though that doesn’t sound like a problem it is because we had to use more ingredients and that affected the number of ingredients for our other products. When we were in the midst of completing this project I learned many things. I learned that you don’t have to run to the store, instead, you can make your own supper organic, 100% organic skincare products. This really influenced me to make sure that I keep all products organic. I loved this project so much. I think that if I could choose to do something different I would add a little bit less oil into the soap so that the smell would not be that intense.

I hope you love our products!!

DIY Products

I learned many different ways of making your own products in the process of completing the one day project. For example I figured out that it is actually easy to make your own items/products when you have the right materials and the right amount of time. During this process I faced a few challenges, one of the challenges I faced was the quantity of the products we made, because of this we had to make more and that effected the amount of ingredients we used. If I did this project again, I would change the moisturizing soap because we added a lot of oil to the soap, which caused my hands to become very greasy.

Jessica’s Skin products

While I was doing DIY Skincare, The most challenging thing was the limited time and materials. When me and my partner  made tons of lip balms and soaps we didn’t have a lot of empty container. Also, when we were making other products the time was limited. Through the process of completing this project, I learned that working as a team or a partner is important. It’s because when I don’t have many materials my partner brought most of the materials that we needed. Also,  she told me how to make the products. Lastly, If I do differently when I do a similar project again, I would bring more materials . And I would spend the time more usefully and  take a plan specifically to make better product.

Sally’s very personal DIY products

While making my own DIY skin products, I had been facing a lot of challenges, such as lack of time and materials. When my partner and I were making soaps, we didn’t have big enough bowl to melt the soap base, but we used microwave to melt the soap base. During the processes of making DIY products, I learned that working together with your partner is very important, because when you are doing something, and you don’t know what should you do, than the partner could help you to make better DIY products. If I would have a chance to make DIY products again, I would do it more systemically, because I had whole one and a half an hour of doing nothing. So, I decided to make body butter, but the body butter was not that successful.

DIY Craziness

My personal reflection

Some of the challenges that I faced was making the right quantity or a certain product, For example, i would not melt enough Coco butter then I would have to go back and melt more that wasted most of my time. To overcome this challenge I tried measuring the right amount then moving on, this helped push me forward and kept me moving.

Overall I learned a lot from this experience,  From recipes, to how to save time instead of walking to the store you could make something at home.  I also learned that beauty products don’t have to be makeup but a face scrub that could help your complexions. If I could do something differently I would plan out more ideas because at the last hour my group was out of ideas, and we were bored.

A Disaster DIY Project

Our group me, Tiana and Akari collaborated together and made three different types of Skincare product for One day, bath bomb, Lip bomb and soap. The process of making bath bomb was kind of tough becasue we didn’t prepare the ingredients properly and we didn’t do a lot of research  on it. We used ingredients from other people and tried multiple times by adding more water and citric acid so the bath bomb stays together. Lip bombs turned out pretty successful and the process was really relaxing. The last product we made was soap, it was really hard to melt the soap, we managed to grate the soap to reduce time. Also something really successful that we used different colors to make the soap really pretty and colorful. However, something our group could have done differently if we’re doing this project again is to bring more ingredients in and use different molds so all the products will be unique.

After doing the DIY skincare project, I think that the store bought products are better than DIY because its more professional and ‘Perfect’ on the outside when the DIY products might not look good and also it is most likely to recover the thing you want better. However, Making DIY Skincare products are fun and enjoyable, you can mix different ingredients together making the color you want and the scent you want that meets your needs.
