After visiting the website, I got a better idea on how Salva brings clean water to Sudan and why. Everyday, women or girls from families would walk eight hours straight to a dirty pond to get some muddy water. And when they walk back, each of them will need to carry a large container filled with water. This is their only choice from not being thirsty, yet also, to live. They don’t know how much bacteria are hiding inside, but even if they did, what else could they do? There wasn’t any fresh running water to drink from.
After, Salva Dut, helped his country by drilling wells that lead to clean, fresh and safe water. From this, less people will suffer from diseases or illness caused by unclean water. This hugely impacted to the girls, they now can stop their normal walks but go to school and be educated. Lastly, thanks to Salva, they now can build markets, more schools and more houses.
