In the autobiographical novel The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Sherman Alexie creates a complex character, creates a setting that shapes who the protagonist is a character who got some born brain disease and grown up in a poor reservation. The book crucified racism and people who tried to kill other culture severely. This book combine satire and black humour.

The author emphasise a miserable situation that he has by maintaining “ poverty teaches you how to be poor ”. To make it more expressive , he highlights a equation, “poverty = empty refrigerator + empty stomach”, which interpret his tragic condition perfectly.
