Lot of people in this world want a place where is all peaceful and group up themselves into who they like. There is a actually society which divides themselves to 5 factors and factionless to make a utopia country. In the book Divergent, Veronica Roth characterizes Beatrice as a girl who tries to adopt in dystopian society trying to prove herself that she can also adopt in place which is not utopian like before.
Beatrice is a tiny little girl who was thought as a weak girl among the faction members but dauntless in inside. Beatrice was a girl who was first small and showed as somewhat weak. At the front of the book, a reflection of Beatrice was shown as “narrow face, wide, round eyes, and a long thin nose” (Roth 2). This affected other peoples too and made them think Beatrice very young for example, a factionless man said: “You look a little young to be walking around by yourself, dear,” (26). This appearance also affected inside the section which brought her disadvantage because of the few members who called Beatrice stiff because the fact that she is from Abnegation faction and looked like she is weak. This is shown very well inside the book because Beatrice’s rival, Peter was the character which called Beatrice stiff a lot like:“Hey, Stiff! Remember what a knife is?”(159). However, this mind tended to change because at the last part of the book, “‘ People tend to overestimate my character,” I say quietly. ‘”They think that because I’m small, or a girl, or a Stiff, I can’t possibly be cruel. But they’re wrong.”’….. I shift the gun back to his head, ignoring the pang of guilt in my chest.”(464) Also, she tried to do things to prove herself. At the scene of the paintball match, Beatrice not only showed to make a great strategy but also showed braveness which risked her life. Even four, the mentor of the Dauntless faction said,“Are you human, Tris? Being up this high…”(144). This shows how people also though as her brave and strong and not weak and small anymore.
To sum up, Beatrice as a girl who tries to adopt in dystopian society trying to prove herself by trying to be dauntless by changing her personality even though she was shown as weak and small at the start
I think you should change your titile
Hi Andy, As I read your blog post I really like your hook, the way you talk about the society and then connect with the book. I like how your quotes are very specific to the idea and really shows how the character looks like. Your last quote shows how others think about the protagonist. You ended by summing up all the ideas of this blog which made it more clear for the audience to understand.
How does the character change throughout the story?
