90 Miles to Havana Theme by Rahee Kwak
In 90 Miles to Havana by Enrique Flores-Galbis, Julian is the main character, a protagonist. After the Cuban revolution, Julian and two older brothers are sent to America. However, in America, they meet Caballo who is a bully and he acted like a dictator. Julian and his friends tried to fight against him but failed. Being tired of Caballo, Julian tried to find his parents and fortunately, Julian’s family reunification was successful and he could expect a new life in the US with his family. Although there are many topics like friendship, revolution or sacrifices, the main topic of this book is power.

I really liked how you organised the quotes and the reasonings. I agreed with you about the theme, people like Caballo, who acts like a leader and acts mean to others because they know their powerful.

I love your design, it’s so cool! I love how you make connection between your book title and Cuban revolution. And also your choices of the quotes are representative. For example the first quote, it use metaphor to show how people was lured. Chinese books that I had read called “Eugenie Grandet” tell me the truth about your theme.

And I have a question: Is the story mainly about the Cuban Revolution or after?
