Exposition task: Prompt 4
5 children break into a museum in attempts to take a scroll, then ZAP, white fire spreads as white spirits emerge to attack all the mortals. As the children are slowly forced into a corner, a griffon comes and flies them out of the museum. Mortal police are confused by these events and are still trying to figure out what happened, but what exactly did happen?
In my book Throne of Fire, written by Rick Riordan, the setting in the story is in Brooklyn and sometimes Russia and London in modern times. Our two protagonists are called Sadie Kane and Carter Kane, and they are trying to collect 3 scrolls with the secret to releasing the Egyptian god Ra before Apophis is released in 5 days. According to the text, Sadie and Carter hate each other and yet still wish to achieve the same goals, as this quote says “Carter does something stupid(and nobody is surprised)”, and when they arrived in Russia, a god called Bes surprised them with the fact that Russians have no trouble seeing magic in any of it’s forms. Then he says “When you get the scroll, meet me by the chocolate museum, err, shop.”. Sadie and Carter then complain that the god gets to eat chocolate while they have to risk their lives to hopefully save the world from getting destroyed from Apophis, which kind of shows how ignorant a god can get at times. They then encounter the most powerful and Russian magician, who summons a two-headed snake in attempts to kill them.
