Check Please: Take 3

Scene 3

For the past few Stagecraft classes, I was assigned the script of scene 3 of the play Check Please: Take 3 to make costumes for the 2 characters. We are supposed to use the consider the 10 factors of costume design in order to create a design a costume that accurately fits the character described. In the script, the man is shown as a laid back person. He is not registered to vote, and also tries to change topics when politics, a controversial topic, is brought up. Based on this, I think that khaki pants and a knit sweater are the best fit for the casual date. The woman, on the other hand, is very patriotic. To signify this, I dressed her up in an American flag shirt, with denim jeans, a staple of American fasion.
