The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant


The found poem was created out of the story “The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant” written by W.D. Wetherell. It shows the conflict between the protagonist and the self. In the rising action of the story, this conflict illustrates the protagonist’s indecision of whether he should ask Sheila Mant who he was obsessed with. In this story, this indecisive action demonstrates how the main character is shy and hesitant when facing his crush, Sheila Mant. This also tells us that Sheila Mant is a very popular and charming girl and thus making the protagonist indecisive.
