Reflection

The differences between my first drafts were that in my first draft my paragraphs were messed up, punctuation was wrong and some parts of my story were different tenses, In my first draft I also didn’t have a strong ending. My topic developed by giving a stronger point and being more evident. Some new punctation I used was using semicolons and commas, I didn’t use dashes though so I should add some next time. Some improvements I added to my conclusion was adding more paragraphs, reviewing more of the topic of the story, and making it more obvious to the reader that the narrative is over. I used a lot of descriptive language throughout the story and for different things, I also used a wide variety and tried to not repeat the same descriptive words over. Next time I would like to add more feel related descriptive words and use other words instead of said. I feel like my final draft was ok but after I handed it in I reread and noticed I made some careless mistakes so I was a bit disappointed about that.

Cardboard Arcade Reflection

My biggest obstacle is trying to measure the length, width, and height of the cardboard pieces. Since sometimes I miscalculate and cut a cardboard piece short. Which therefore makes the game uneven and makes it harder.

If I did this again, one thing I would do differently is to enforce the obstacles inside and make sure the marble won’t get stuck. I would also make it so the pillars supporting my design is more stable and does not tip to one side.

Overall, I think this project was successful because the kids liked it and had fun. It also functioned alright and nothing broke, I also had fun making it.

Where I’m from

I am From Poem

By: Curtis

I am from my cozy bedroom,

From my soothing sheets on a freezing winter night,

To my computer in the desktop light.

I am from music,

From erupting, emotional EDMs,

To mellow music I listen to.

I am from time,

From the singing of songbirds so sweet it can melt anybody’s heart,

To the still silence of the night.

I am from cats,

From the soft feeling of fur,

To the reassuring meows when I’m down.

I am from Irene and Alex,

From the chillist family in the galaxy,

To the farthest apple from the tree.

I am from sports,

From past soccer and badminton,

To bashing, bouncing, basketball.

I am from family,

From my amazing, overprotective parents,

To different sides of a coin siblings.

I am from food,

From fabulous food in Japan,

To mom’s classical cooking.

I am from feelings,

From a ticking time bomb of emotions,

To happiness like rays of sunshine.

Water Filter Design Challenge

We have spent the last few science classes working on a design challenge, the challenge was to create a filter to filter dirty water.

We used nylon, pipes, cotton, strings, and cups to build our filter.

We chose this design because of how using this design lets the water flow. Water first goes through the pipe then strings, nylon, and cotton in the pipes then come out into the cup we prepared.

our design did filter most of the dirt out but the color was yellow which makes it unappetizing.

One way I can change the filter if I could do it again is to change some nylon into cotton pieces so it could filter out more dirt.

Engineering is important because it helps us improve our lives and makes everything easier, engineering also helps us improve or creativity, knowledge, and calculations.

I am…?

I am a gamer.

I am a motivated learner.

I am a risk-taker.
