I once got my shoelace stuck in the excavator, so maybe my name should be "clumsy untied shoelace girl"

Final Reading Project- HOLES

What book did you read and how did you like it? (Remember titles of books are underlined)

The book I read for this project was  Holes by Louis Sachar.

Explain how your project shows your thinking

For this project, I focused on character change on the main character Stanley. This project can show my thinking because I need to write about how Stanley changed over time. To do that, I need to finish reading the book and focused on the details when talking about Stanley.

How did this project level-up your thinking or stretch you as a reader?

This project stretched me as a reader because it also tests me on how I read the book and if I read the book closely. Also, I also need to use some reading skills like go back and re-read when I need to find more evidence.

1. A one or two-sentence summary of the unit, “Our Stories Make History,” and the project you created.

The unit “Our Stories Make History,” is basically about our life and our stories during the COVID-!9 season. We recorded down the things that happened in our life. The project I created was just a tutorial on how to make jelly. Because jelly is really easy to make and really fun to make.

2. Explain how you organized your project and why.

I first videoed myself making the jelly, then I used iMovie to put all the videos together and added words to it.

3. How might this primary source be useful to a historian, or even future 6th graders, in the future?

I think historians or future 6th graders can learn what we work we did in 6th grade 2020, and what we did to not get bored.

4. What might they learn about/from your experience?

I think they can learn what 6th-grade students in 2020 liked to eat, and how to make it.

5. What do you think went well for you in this unit? (What are you most proud of?)

I was able to complete most of my work without asking questions and most things were done well.

6. What did you find challenging within this unit?
Some of the assignments were really confusing like I didn’t really understand what to do, but I understand most of the tasks

How did Eating Help the Homo Habilis-Diet

Back then, what people ate was mostly raw, they didn’t have a good fire to cook their food so they ate raw meat and uncooked vegetables. But now, we eat most things cooked, like full cooked meat and cooked vegetables. If I can redo this project and go back to when we just started it I would work. Before I didn’t work very fast because I thought there was still a lot of time left, but actually there wasn’t a lot of time. I struggled when there wasn’t a lot of time left at the end, I had to go home and work because I didn’t do a lot of work at school. I will change

Homo Neanderthalensis

In this assignment, we were supposed to choose a time period that early hominins lived, and I chose Homo Neaderthalensis.

Maps as Metaphors

Dreams and Memories

I am from a family,

with laughter and happiness,

like a party,

with everyone laughing together.

I am from dreams, dreams to meet my idol,

dreams that I can have his autograph,

dreams that I can take a picture with him,

and keep it forever.

I am from amusement parks,

With roller coasters going side to side,

With roller coasters in water,

That ends with a big SPLASH!

In summer, I am from water parks,

with water slides going round and round,

and 90 degrees straight down.

I am from memories,

from when I was young ,

when I got my finger stuck in the door,

and I screamed like a dying pig.

I am from birthdays,

blowing candles,

with smoke in your face,

like a chimney in front.

receiving gifts,

and friends and family surrounding you,

at that very special moment.

In this assignment we were supposed to draw a picture of us using an app then we needed to write something about us.
