My Lightbox without LEDs on

For our first design project, we were told to create a light box that had the scenery of a place that is special or a place that we remember. Started our project online because of corona and it was really hard for me to communicate because my Wi-Fi sometimes wasn’t so good. I was not able to download adobe illustrator on my computer, so I had to go into a breakout room with Mr. Gaby and work on it on pages. I chose The Rocky Mountains of Banff Canada because I really liked the lakes of Canada and we go on a hiking trip every summer in Canada. We didn’t get to go hiking last summer because of COVID19 so that’s why I chose to create this landscape on my lightbox.

I learned a lot of different ways of making a lightbox and learned what type of glue to use on different types of materials. I learned how to use adobe illustrator on my computer, I have used other adobe apps but not this one. It expanded my knowledge on designing new things on adobe.

my light box is mainly made out of 7 parts. The most important part will be the outside layer of the lightbox where it stores all of the layers that I made for my lightbox. And then there is the background colour, LEDs that help light up the back of my mountains, a lake layer which has a mountain on top, another layer of mountain, and the last layer with is the frame of my final work piece.

If I could change anything that was on my lightbox right now, I would add some trees onto my mountains for it to look more colourful instead of just having two colours on my lightbox. I would also make it more detailed and make the lake longer and with more detail. My lake right now is just a straight rectangle without any waves or any other shapes. One of my mistakes that I made on my layers was that I printed one of the mountains wrong, so I took the mountain down and sticked it on my lake layer. It turned out well and it doesn’t look weird on my building.

Attitude Towards Learning

Attitude towards learning is very important for Percy Jackson. In 《 Percy Jackson —The Lightning Thief 》, some quotes showed how he needs to improve on the attitude towards his learning.

What are the Problems That Percy is facing?

Attitude towards learning is very important for Percy Jackson, Percy’s problem is that he doesn’t really care about going to school and how his grades are low but don’t affect Percy. “My grades slipped from Ds to Fs”

“I got into more fights with Nancy Bobofit and her friends. I was sent out into the hallway in almost every class.” (PG.17) This piece of text from the book shows that Percy doesn’t really care about his grade and how he acts in school. He kind of just doesn’t care anything and just reveals to everyone that he’s not a good student and doesn’t focus on learning. This also meant that Percy’s grades slipped to F doesn’t make a big impact on Percy. How Percy could solve this problem: ❶“Schedule your most challenging study sessions during peak energy periods when you anticipate feeling

most energized and focused” This can help Percy because Percy falls asleep in every class (except for Mr. Brunner’s class)
if Percy can schedule a time for rest and schedule a time where he would focus 100% during class then it should make a big impact on Percy Jackson. And Percy can ask his teacher if they can schedule a break time for the students. If all of the students focused 100% while in class and rested afterwards then it would make the classroom. Productivity much more effective. Another problem that Percy is facing is that he thinks he has a miserable life and thinks there’s no point in life, this is a quote from the book that shows the evidence. Pg 2 “I could start at any point in my short miserable life.”

Pg 2 “See, bad things happen to me on field trips.”

Pg 2 “I hoped for once I wouldn’t get in trouble.” This shows that Percy doesn’t want to make these troubles while on school/classroom trips. This also shows that Percy thinks that his life is miserable and doesn’t focus/care about class or other student’s learning time. Another quote that could help Percy solve this problem: ❶ “Sometimes the distractions aren’t coming from the external world–they’re invading from within! If you’re worried about a particular issue—”When am I going to get a raise?” or “What will happen if I fail this test?”—you might find yourself struggling to stay focused.” This article is important to Percy Jackson because this quote can help Percy not to think about the problems that much and focus on what he should be doing. This quote can also help Percy Jackson with tests, to not think about failures and say positive quotes to yourself.

How could Percy’s Problems be improved?

Percy struggles in school and has problems in his learning mindset, some quotes show how he could improve. But Mr. Brunner expected me to be as good as everybody else, despite the fact that I have dyslexia and attention deficit disorder and I had never made above a C- in my life. (PG.7) This shows that Percy isn’t that confident in his grades and because he liked to learn with Mr. Brunner, then maybe Mr. Brunner can help Percy find back his confidence towards learning /school. Some quotes from the articles could help Percy with this problem.❷ “If you’re stuck on something, or something just doesn’t seem to make sense, you can always ask for help. Talk to your teachers or lecturers about the things you don’t understand. Talk to your friends and fellow students too.” This quote matters to Percy Jackson because this quote is the same problem that Percy needs help on. If Mr. Brunner is Percy’s “only favourite” teacher, then Percy can ask Mr. Brunner for study tips and Percy will improve on other subjects by doing the same thing with other teachers from other subjects. Another quote that shows what Percy had problems with “Finally, when our English teacher Mr. Nicoll, asked me for the millionth time why I was too lazy to study for spelling tests, I snapped. I called him an old sot. I wasn’t even sure what it meant, but it sounded good.” (Pg.17) This shows that Percy doesn’t study for most of his tests and maybe Percy should talk to his parents for help on grade work or tests. “for the millionth time” is hyperbole but this also shows that Percy doesn’t study for most of the tests. Some quotes from articles that could help solve this problem. .❷ “At least once a week you should go back over the things you’ve studied in class. Thinking things over can help you to understand the concepts and help you remember when you need them the most. Quiz – Get a friend or family member to quiz you on key concepts. Offer to help your friends with their work too. Quizzes are great ways to get confident about what you know and find out what you still need to learn. Make your own study materials – Think up some practice exam questions or create your own flashcards to help you study. This way you learn it all twice: once when you make the study materials and once when you use them to revise.” This could help Percy with his tests and Percy could ask his parents or friends for help on studying tests and quizzes. And they can help you or go over the work you need to know together with you. This can help you be more confident with the work you know about and not be afraid about getting a bad grade at these tests because you studied and you know what you’re doing during the test.

At last, I would want to conclude that attitude towards learning is very important and the tips above are the quotes that show what Percy is having problems with, or how this can help Percy facing his problems/fears.

Our Stories Make History – Final Project

This project is about our experience during the coronavirus and recording down about what our feelings are during this period and using our selfs’ as a “primary resource .”  we organized our project using noodle tools to record down the sites we used and makes sure that the website gets this credit. (bibliography ). we might use this information later for telling stories about this time period and what we did while self- isolation at home.  I think the part of collecting the information went quite well because that we had a lot of articles to choose from and also learnt that some information might not be real also known as “fake news.” because there were lots of new websites to look for, the part of collection information was easy.  some of the changes during this period were that we had to identify between “real” news and “fake” news that were on some of the websites and what information can be trusted some that cant.

Dear Abby Conflict: Character Conflict

Dear Abby,


One of the family members in our family had died and we got a lot of money from her heritage. Our family is planning to add new things to our house, it was all planned and they were ready to start to build this building. But it wasn’t how I wanted our house to be, my two brothers all had ideas and us three all want the house built in some way, but the adults just won’t listen, they want it however they want it to be. We kept on persuading them and trying to let them listen to us and respect our ideas. Can you please find a way to help me persuade my parents?

Reflection- Thinglink Project

I feel the bibliography went well on this project because before we started this project, I was thinking about this question. I thought it would be hard, but it worked out fine! noodle tools work well and our project also went well. what was difficult was that Ms. Shannon was away for quite a few days because then, I was kind of lost on the first day that she was away, i didn’t know things and I couldn’t get a response instantly when I needed that information. But at last, everything went to an end and it actually went out fine! If I were to change and do this project again, First of all, I would change a topic to work on and try new things, second, I would spend more time on it because when I finished it, I always felt something was missing and didn’t know what it was.

susanna’s island

this is a map about things that are important to me.

the plain is writing because it is expanding to new places while I write.

mountains made up my fears, where I can’t climb up to.

valleys are adventures that I seek to.

rivers are my thoughts and thinkings, flowing every day with fresh new ideas.

volcanos are my feelings and sometimes in rest and sometimes exploding.

islands are my bed, where I start my day with and end my days with.

forests are chests where I keep my secrets in.

deserts are my schedule, repeating every week and every day.

coasts are airports, travelling to new places and exploring new things and new places.

oceans are my family and friends, big, warm with lots of creatures in it.

water filter design challenge:

we hade two designs and I think the first design worked well on making the colour not yellow and the second one worked well on filtering the sand and the stones out.

…….and this is the water that came out. I think the first model, is the one that I will use because I don’t want to drink water and then find that there is sands in it, and another reason is that we spent more time on making the first one so that will be the one that I. will choose.
