Water Filter

Through out the past 3 days of science we have been designing a water filter. The problem was that we were stranded on an island and the only water source was to dirty to drink.  Me and Behr made 3 different designs. The first 2 were unsuccessful but the final design somewhat filtered it. In our final design we needed to use: cotton, 2 cups, pebbles, and a screen. Here are some pictures:

I think our main problem was that with the first attempt there was so much stuff inside the straw that the water couldn’t get through. We chose this design because we had used the information from our past attempts to create the final design. We also used tips from other groups to improve our designs. I think engineering is important because it helps us solve important every day problems.

I am creative

I am curious

I am wondrous

Welcome to Your New Blog!

When you blog you create posts and posts are categorised according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you. If you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category.
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This can include text, images, embedded videos from Dragons’ Tube or elsewhere. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
