My grade 6 cardboard arcade

In design we needed to make a cardboard arcade game for a fourth grade class. Inspired by games my group (Graham, Alex, and I)saw online we decided that we would create a version of Ski-Ball.

The biggest challenge we faced was the size of our game. We had to work extra hard to finish our game because it was the biggest in the class. Also because of the size of the game we could not focus on how it looks and how the game worked, rather than rushing to get the game done.

One thing that I would change was how difficult the game was, all the kids thought our game was too hard and all of them left after a few attempts. We could do this by decreasing the slope or by increasing the number of holes. The biggest change that I would make is making the launcher easier to control and making the game easier.

If I were to do this project again I would change how big it was. The game was really hard to work with. It would be easier to work with the finer details like changing the launcher and making it look better. Making it smaller would also mean it would require less force so it is easier for the fourth graders.

Welcome to Your New Blog!

When you blog you create posts and posts are categorised according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you. If you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category.
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This can include text, images, embedded videos from Dragons’ Tube or elsewhere. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
