Please pick up your child’s medication if you have any left in the Nurses’ Office before the end of the school year.
If your child is between the ages 4-6 years old or 11-12 years old, they might be due for some immunizations.
4-6 years; DTP, Polio, MMR, Varicella
11-12 years; Tdap*, HPV(Human Papilloma Virus), MenACWY(Meningococcal ACWY)
These immunizations are recommended by US CDC immunization schedule. DTP, Polio, and MMR are ISB required immunizations to protect not only your child’s health but also the ISB community. If you are not following US CDC recommendation, contact your healthcare provider. Please update your child’s immunization record with the school nurses if your child received any immunization during the summer.
*Tdap vaccine is not available in China. Tdap is a booster shot that helps protect your preteen or teen from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis.
- MEDICAL CONDITION
If your child has severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, or other medical condition, please download the Emergency Action Plan from the Nurse page on Dragon’s Gate and ask your doctor to complete it. You are recommended to have an extra Epipen for the nurse office for your medical emergency. Please be aware that Epipens are not available in China. If you need medication to keep at the school, please make sure to have the medication and the action plan form dropped off at the school nurses’ office on the first day of school. If you only have the emergency action plan, not medication, please scan and e-mail the form to the divisional nurses’ office.
- Rising Grade 9 students (Current Grade 8, excluding new students) will have physical examination scheduled in August for 2019-2020 school year.
Please contact the nurses’ office if you have any questions. We wish you all a happy healthy summer break.
